The whole family will learn, play, and grow during this interactive storytime full of stories, creative movement, and songs that will strengthen listening, language, and literacy skills. We will use books, movement activities, songs, rhymes, manipulative, and extensions that promote the growth of the child's literacy, brain, and emotional development. We will also model ways caregivers can interact, engage, and be their child's first teacher.
Preschool Discovery, for kids ages 3-5, will help develop literacy skills in preparation for school. The story times will consist of different themes every week including family, love, holidays, friendship, animals and food, which in turn will highlight our vast youth collection.

All Garland Libraries will be closed on Monday, January 16 for Martin Luther King Day.
All City of Garland offices, utility customer service and tax offices, recreation centers and senior centers, and libraries will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The recycling center, transfer station and Hinton Landfill will also be closed. Firewheel Golf Park Old and Lakes Courses will remain open. There will be no disruption in trash or recycling collection.
